As with all other older mopeds, the flame tube and the external parts of the exhaust on Sachs models are often victims of rust. Once the chrome is off, rust has an easy time of it. At an advanced stage, however, a rusting flame or exhaust pipe not only affects the appearance, it also affects the performance of your moped, as the exhaust gas flows are no longer optimally diverted.
