From a small mechanic's workshop to an international supplier
Immediately after the Second World War, in 1949, four brothers from near the Italian city of Turin decided to pool their wealth of experience in the field of mechanics and set up their own business. They initially set up a small workshop where they mainly manufactured hinges for camping furniture. In the years that followed, however, OMG increasingly specialised in the manufacture of vehicle parts for the booming automotive industry. The company benefited massively from the growth of the automotive sector and rose rapidly. A few years later, OMG was one of the leading manufacturers of chassis components and steering linkages for lorries and cars. The company was already working with Fiat and Lancia as well as IVECO in 1960. In the 1980s, Mercedes and Volkswagen were added as renowned international customers. Thanks to its constant striving for innovation and continuous improvement in product quality, the company was also able to develop into one of the most important suppliers to the aftermarket in the years that followed.
