Which fit of shaft or hub must have how much µ (also called my, or mü), i.e. which are the dimensions to be manufactured, can be read quickly and reliably without long browsing in the table book or laborious online searches. You can set the initial measurement by turning the knob and then read off the converted value on the scale next to it.
Turning the wheel has never made so much sense.
