Indispensable precision component
As an essential component in the piston engine of the moped, the crankshaft has a very special task. With the help of a well-thought-out mechanism and the so-called connecting rods, it converts the ascending and descending movement of the piston inside the cylinder into torque. This energy is then transferred to the gearbox via the moped clutch. As the crankshaft is a precision component that has to be fitted very accurately, installation and removal not only requires expert assembly skills and the necessary tools. A certain amount of dexterity is also required. If you are confident enough to carry out the assembly, you should definitely have a hot air gun to hand to heat the bearing. You will also need a torque spanner and a tool for separating the crankcase.
